BCAE Summer Fest 2022

BCAE is organizing a GRAND in-person event "Summer Fest 2022" on to celebrate the return to regular summer after two difficult years of the pandemic.

Date: May 29, 2022

Gate Open: 4:00 PM

Venue: Central Lions Recreation Centre (11113 113 street NW, Edmonton, AB T5G 0E9.

Special Attraction:

  • Live performance of Feedback, one of the most popular musical bands in Bangladesh.

  • Music of Pintu Ghosh. Edmontonian Bangladeshi still remember Pintu Ghosh's mesmerizing performance in 2019.

  • A short 30-minute cultural event from selected local artists from Edmonton.

Food and Cultural Displays: Stalls are available for clothing, catering services, jewelry or other business or professional organization. Registration fees for one stall/table is CAD $75. Limited spots available. To secure your spot please contact Md Joynal Abedin, Sports & Special Events Secretary (SSES) at joynal.ru@gmail.com or 780-200-5228.

Tickets for the Event: The price of the ticket is CAD $30 per person. Kids less than 6 years can enter for free. Tickets can be purchased in-person from the following locations:

Please note that the City of Edmonton has strict rules about the maximum participants for the venue and we will not be able to issue any additional tickets once we reach our full capacity. We have limited tickets for the event, so make sure to collect yours while tickets are still available.

BCAE Iftar Party

April 24, 2022

BCAE organized Community Iftar Party on April 24. Online registration is required to attend the event. Significant number of community members attended the event. There were many students who joined the BCAE event for the first time. The community members highly commended the event and those who were involved in organising the Iftar Party.

BCAE sincerely acknowledges the enormous contribution from our dedicated volunteers. Without your active participation we wouldn't be able to organize this event successfully!

We are specially thankful to our anonymous donor who generously covered the costs for the dinner. Our heartfelt gratitude to Noor E Alam Bhai for cooking the food and all volunteers who helped us organize the event. Thanks to Alif Halal Meat & Groceries Ltd for sponsoring water and dates. We are also thankful to other community members who made donations to cover the costs for this event. Our collective efforts have made this event a success.

Swadhinota & Bangla New Year

স্বাধীনতা ও বাংলা নববর্ষ

BCAE is organized an in-person cultural event “Swadhinota & Bangla New Year" to commemorate the Independence Day of Bangladesh and celebrate the Bangla New Year 1429.

This event is an unforgettable one in many ways. Not only was it an in-person event after two years, but also we had to make all the arrangements in a very short time. BCAE organized Mongal Shubhajatra, Boishakhi Mela and Cultural Program consisting of Bangla school performance, kids’ dance, youth dance and fashion show, comedy drama, solo songs, and BCAE webpage preview. Huge number of community members attended our first in-person event in 2022.

BCAE-BSAUA Blood Donation

Bangladesh Canada Association of Edmonton organized "BCAE-BSAUA Blood Donation" on the occasion of International Mother Language Day 2022. Community members joined the event to donate blood at Canadian Blood Center, Edmonton.

Paying Homage to the Language Martyrs

Bangladesh Canada Association of Edmonton organized "Ekusher Probhat Feri" to pay homage to our language martyrs on the occasion of International Mother Language Day 2022. Community members joined the event to honor our language heroes for the sacrifice they made to preserve our mother language Bangla.

This year BCAE took the initiative apply to the City of Edmonton to proclaim 21st February 2022 as the International Mother Language Day in Edmonton. Please see the proclamation below. This is a proud moment for all of us. BCAE also received special messages from Honorable Ronald Orr , Mr. Matt Jeneroux, MP, and Ms. Christina Gray, MLA.
