BCAE Bangla School participated in the IHLA (International Heritage and Language Association) International Mother Language Day Celebration 2023 at the Polish Center in Edmonton. This the first time BCAE Bangla School participated in this broader platform. 

BCAE Bangla School's performance was "Our Pride, Our Hope, Our Language -Bangla." Bangla School students performed a song written during the Language Movement, and recited a poem about Bangla Language. The song expresses the mourning for the sacrifice of our language martyrs. The poem represents our love and pride for Bangla language.

Based on the decisions taken in BCAE AGM 2022 (held on January 22, 2023), BCAE Bangla School Committee 2023 Meeting #1 (held on January 29, 2023) and BCAE Executive Committee Meeting #3 (held on February 1, 2023), BCAE Bangla School is providing the following updates:

Effective March 5 of 2023, BCAE Bangla School classes will be held Fully In-Person at Bangladesh Center (4271-95 Street NW Edmonton, AB T6E 5R6 ). Language classes will be held every Sunday from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. Music Classes will be held every Sunday from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.  

For a smooth transition from online to in-person classes, both language classes and music classes in February 2023 will remain on-line.  Language classes will resume on February 5 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. Music classes will resume on February 5 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. 

Effective March 2023, Bangla School students are required to pay a monthly fee to cover a partial cost for the program:

• • For BCAE Members (parents):  $5 per month per program (Language Class, Music Class)

• For Non-Members (parents):  $10 per month per program (Language Class, Music Class)

Non-Members can take BCAE Membership to get the discounted monthly fees: Become a BCAE Member. Monthly fees are due on the first class in a month. However, parents may choose to pay the fees for entire academic year at once. Monthly fees are payable to Bangladesh Canada Association of Edmonton via e-transfer to finance@bcae.ca. 

Effective September 2023, Bangla School students are required to pay an annual registration fee during enrollment:

• For BCAE Members (parents):  $20 per academic year per program (Language Class, Music Class)

• For Non-Members (parents):  $30 per academic year per program (Language Class, Music Class)

Non-Members can take BCAE Membership to get the discounted registration fees: Become a BCAE Member. Admission fees are payable to Bangladesh Canada Association of Edmonton via e-transfer to finance@bcae.ca.
